The Indiana National Guard is ready to help people who get stranded on roads and highways because of the winter storm.

Approximately 240 Indiana National Guardsmen are positioned at armories all across the state to make up 60 highway teams.

20 of those teams are in the northern part of the state, 20 are in the central part of the state, and 14 are in the south. An additional 6 teams are ready to move to areas of the state that have extreme weather.

The armories the guardsmen will be stationed at are in the following places: South Bend, Lafayette, Gary, Fort Wayne, Lawrence, Terre Haute, Richmond, Camp Atterbury, New Albany, Evansville, Bloomington, and Scottsburg.

The Guard still reminds you to stay off the roads and remember to call 911 for assistance if you are stranded on the road.
