The Board of the Tolson Center in Elkhart has announced their new Executive Director.
Breanna Allen brings a passion for young people and extensive experience in higher education to the organization, according to Tolson Board chair Cynthea Millsaps.
Allen has nearly ten years of tenure in higher education and community collaboration in Elkhart County, including time at Ivy Tech and the Horizon Education Alliance.
Allen says the Tolson’s historic role as a pillar in the community sets the stage for a remarkable expansion. She will begin developing programs when she starts in the role on April 1.

Funded by the city via tax dollars, but not accountable to the city or the taxpayers. The city already had Tolson open, and were running programs out of it, but the area residents don’t want that. They want to drop their kids off without signing them in and out: a free babysitter. That freshly remodeled building will be trashed, and the program is going to be a giant money sink for years to come.
Government has no business in stuff like this anyway, Tolson for the South siders is just as bad as a publicly funded private golf course for the North siders.
