The Shipshewana Fire Department has named their first full-time Chief.

Shawn Ellis has been named to the post, and brings 30 years of experience fighting fires. Most recently he was stationed in Bahrain, and has been a firefighter for the Navy, including time in Iraq.

Incoming Chief Ellis says the existing Shipshewana Fire Department has a great foundation for him to expand on.

Former Chief Chad Miller will serve as Deputy Chief.
