St. Joe Co. code violation program begins

St. Joseph County is changing code enforcement.

Residents are able to file complaints online as public officials begin the county’s first code violation program. It’s an effort to hold residents to a higher standard about animals, vegetation, abandoned vehicles and other issues.

The county has hired two inspectors to fight against the backload of existing complaints. There will be hang tags and violation notices, which could lead to fines or even abatements.

You can file code violation reports by clicking here.
