St. Joseph County tests voting machines

St. Joseph County tested its voting machines on Friday in anticipation of the Indiana Primary.

Monday was the last day to register to vote in the Primary, and Tuesday marks the first day to cast an in-person ballot. Representative Tim Wesco of Osceola told WNDU that a number of counties have machines without a paper trail, which St. Joseph County always has.

Elkhart County machines had no paper trail when voting centers were introduced, but have since updated their equipment to be paper trail compliant. Wesco authored a bill that moved Indiana’s paper trail mandate from December 2029 to July 2024.

All of Indiana’s congressional seats are up for grabs this year, as well as Todd Young’s Senate seat.
