Three people shot in South Bend, officers injured during fight in hospital parking garage

Three people are recovering after being shot in South Bend. The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, in the 2400 block of Oakbrook Drive.

As officers were investigating, Memorial Hospital notified officers that three juveniles walked into the Emergency Room, all suffering from gunshot wounds.

So far, there is no word of any suspects, arrests, or details about what led to the shooting.

At the same time, Memorial Hospital officers were trying to break up a fight in the parking garage.

As Memorial Hospital officers tried to intervene, one was struck by, then dragged by, a fleeing vehicle.

That officer was slightly injured but was able to return to duty.

The South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit has interviewed several witnesses regarding the shooting, as well as, the hospital disturbance.
