Investigation underway after inmate was found dead in Michigan

An investigation is underway after an inmate was found dead inside the Berrien County Jail.

It was around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, when Nicholas Alan Jaeger, 35, was found unresponsive.

Jail deputies and medical staff tried emergency aid until paramedics arrived, but all attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

The Michigan State Police are leading the investigation.

So far, there’s no word about how or why Jaeger died.
