A South Bend man has sentenced in U.S. District Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.

It’s 108 months in prison for Saul Leal, 25.

According to court documents, Leal and his co-defendants took trips to California to obtain drugs for distribution. During the final trip in December 2017, Leal and two other individuals flew to the Golden State, obtained 11 kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine, which were loaded into a vehicle headed back to the Midwest.

The drugs were discovered when the vehicle was stopped by police.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with help from Oklahoma State Police.
