Cass County Board of Commissioners, approved operating of Off-Road Vehicles on roads in Cass County

The Cass County Board of Commissioners has approved operating of Off-Road Vehicles on roads in Cass County.

The ordinance states that a person over the age of 16 may operate a state-registered ORV on the far right of a county road, with several exceptions, including roads designated closed, on state or federal highways, and on U.S. Forest Service roads.

Leader Publications reports that vehicle allowed include side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles and utility terrain vehicles. Golf carts are not permitted.

The speed limit is for 25 miles per hour or under and the ORVs must have a safety flag displayed. Violations could cost as much as $500.
