The South Bend Community School Corporation is in need of employees.

Teachers are at the top of the list for positions that need to be filled.

They say the lack of teachers has affected the quality of education.

The school district says that they’re offering high salaries and bonuses for teachers and essential staff.

ABC 57 News reports that the starting salary for teachers has been raised to $43,000.

The district is planning to have more hiring events as well as recruitments at local colleges.

There are around 200 open positions to fill before the start of the school year.
