In Michigan, polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

If you still have an absentee ballot, you have until 8 p.m. on Tuesday to complete it and return it to the clerk’s office or drop box.

Officials say your ballot will not be counted unless your signature is on the outside of the return envelope and matches your signature on file.

If you still have your absentee ballot and decide that you want to vote in person, you may do so by surrendering the ballot at your polling place. If you lost your absentee ballot or if it was destroyed, you may sign a statement affirming this and vote at the polls.

In Michigan, you can register to vote throughout the day. Citizens who wish to register may do so at the office of their city or township clerk until 8 p.m.

You can find your clerk’s information at www.Michigan.gov/Vote. Proof of residency must be provided. Acceptable documents include a driver’s license, state I-D card, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document and the documents must have your name and current address.
