The Studebaker National Museum has acquired a rare race car.

The “Bonnie Doon Special” is a Studebaker-powered Midget Race Car built in 1948. WNDU reports that it was built by W.C. “Barney” Barnum of Mishawaka and raced in the AAA Midget Series in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Only 224 cars of this style were built, and only six are known to survive. The car is now on display at the museum on Chapin Street.
