Two people were killed in a crash in rural Clinton Township in LaPorte County.

It was just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, when LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 7400 west block of County Road 800 South after a single-vehicle crash.

The crash scene was located in the lawn of a home.

The initial on-scene investigation determined a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling eastbound when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle drove left of center, then traveled off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with a utility pole, continued on, and struck a large tree before coming to rest.

The driver was identified as Todd E. Williamson, 40, of Mill Creek. The front seat passenger was identified as Michelle M. Pacione, 34, of Union Mills.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology test results are pending.
