One person was killed in a fiery head-on crash in LaPorte County.

The collision happened around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, on U.S. 35 near County Road 400 North.

Police say a man was driving southbound on U.S. 35, crossed the center line, and crashed into another vehicle, head-on, causing one of the vehicles to erupt in flames.

The other driver was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries.
