Firefighters in South Bend, Indiana, held a community open house on Thursday to discuss plans to demolish and rebuild Fire Station 8, which was built in 1957 and is the oldest fire station in the city.

The project is expected to cost $4.2 million, and while they have already secured $3.2 million, they are still seeking an additional $1 million.

Demolition is expected to begin in the fall, but calls will still be answered by other nearby stations.
