Cassopolis man, 20, injured in crash on M-60 at Hospital Street

A 20-year-old Cassopolis man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on M-60 and Hospital Street.

The collision happened around 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, when the vehicle was was unable to stop at the intersection, due to the wet roads, crossed M-60 and went into a ditch against a line of trees.

The driver was taken to Lakeland Niles Hospital for his injuries. A 17-year-old passenger from Dowagiac was not hurt.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The police investigation determined the driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
