Concord students voiced their concern about a dangerous intersection at the Elkhart County Commissioners meeting on Monday.

They’re concerned about the intersection of East Mishawaka Road and C.R. 111.

68% of crashes at the intersection over the last three years were caused by a failure to yield at the intersection.

According to the Goshen News, the students claim that the issue was not that drivers were disregarding the stop sign, but that it was that the drivers could not see the signs at the crossing.

The students looked into the visibility of the sign from different distances and considered the dangers it could bring for students walking to school.

Commissioner Suzie Weirick expects the county to perform a traffic study to find a solution to the problem.
