BBB warns of online shopping scam

Tricky websites claim to offer discounted prices on Stanley cups and tumblers in a scam reported to Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker.
Here’s how the scam works:  An ad pops up on social media for Stanley travel cups appearing to be from the official Stanley company, or a popular sporting goods store. The ad claims there is a flash sale with discounts at half off. When you click, you’re redirected to a website that looks like a legitimate site and you enter your payment information. However, some buyers report never getting a confirmation email and being unable to contact the company.
One Michigan woman says she saw an advertisement claiming to be Dicks Sporting Goods. She ordered a cup and the money was taken from her account. Once the money was deducted, she noticed it was a scam but it was too late to cancel her order.
