A 72-year-old North Manchester man died after a semi-truck struck a farm tractor and its equipment on County Road 33.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, north of County Road 50. Investigators say a northbound 2015 Peterbilt driven by David Rosemeyer struck the rear of a northbound tractor pulling a cultivator and fertilizer cart. The tractor and equipment were turning west into a field.
Rosemeyer was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor’s driver, a 70-year-old man, also of North Manchester, declined medical treatment.
The Peterbilt sustained heavy front-end damage. The fertilizer cart was heavily damaged, and the tractor had minor rear-end damage.
