Indiana officials warn of “fake Xanax” problem in state

The Indiana Department of Health has issued an alert regarding the growing danger of Bromazolam, a synthetic drug.

Although it was originally created for medicinal purposes in the 1970s, it was never authorized for use in the United States.

This drug is classified as being similar to Xanax and Valium and is referred to as “XLI-268” and “fake Xanax” on the streets.

The drug is being sold as tablets, powders, and even gummies.

The Department of Health said it didn’t appear in the U.S. until four years ago.
