A woman is being charged with a Level 5 Felony after she hit a pedestrian and was found high while driving.

The Goshen News reports that Kaila Himes of LaGrange was operating a vehicle while intoxicated on January 12.

The probable cause affidavit says she was driving on U.S. 20 in Middlebury when her vehicle went off the road, and a witness told police that they saw Himes strike a pedestrian.

Police said Himes allegedly had a dazed look on her face and was slurring her speech, saying she had no idea when she crashed her car.

A chemical test for Himes came back positive for THC. The pedestrian stuck by Himes suffered multiple fractures, internal injuries and a concussion.

Himes has a status conference set for November 16 with a jury trial set for July 15.
