Legislators in Michigan are looking to add more electric vehicle charging stations around the state.
Recently passed legislation would provide for additional EV charging stations in the state by allowing charging station operators to re-sell electricity to EV owners without being regulated as utilities.
Some in Lansing are concerned that the state has big areas that are under-served, which discourages EV sales and long trips.
The legislation is awaiting a signature from Governor Whitmer.

Why should we allow the government to use our tax dollars to install charging stations. Those using electric vehicles should foot this bill. Did the government spend tax money on any convenience store/gas station?
Slacker06 comment is correct The actual cost for EV’s is $ 17 per mile when you add in all the cost of the government infrastructure being built with YOUR tax dollars building up debt to support a “FAVORED POLITICAL ELECTRIC CAR INDUSTRY”
Electric cars are fine for in city use – delivery vans, etc that do not need to be driven more than 50 miles in a day Long trips cost billions in tax dollars to support this industry
