Purdue University is planning to pay the government a hefty fine, after one of its former associate professors falsified documents to get federal funding.

The Department of Justice announced Friday that the school will pay $737,391 as part of a settlement.

Police say Dr. Alice Chang with Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine lied on paperwork given to the National Institutes of Health and Department of the Army.

They believe she lied about data in two published papers and 17 grant applications between 2014 and 2020.
