More high school graduates are headed to college for the first time in years. State officials say new data have seen the first increase in some time, through they had hoped a big new scholarship would have boosted enrollment numbers even higher.

Bridge Michigan reports that the jump was slight, up to 53.7% percent of graduates from last year’s 52.8%. That’s the first rise since COVID.
