The Mendel Center Mainstage at Lake Michigan College has been renamed in honor of a benefactor.

On April 4 the venue will celebrate the memory of its long-time patron and benefactor Rolfe Jenkins by naming the mainstage after him.

WSJM reports Jenkins, a St. Joseph resident, was an avid supporter of the performing arts in southwest Michigan, and a mainstage series season ticket subscriber. He left a large bequest to the college when he died in 2022.
