One person was killed in a shooting on I-80/94 in Lake County.
The shooting stemmed from a road rage incident around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6. Around that same time, police got a call about a single vehicle crash near the I-65 exit.
Troopers tried to render first aid but quickly determined that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was deceased.
Troopers that responded to the original caller spoke with that individual about what led up to the confrontation and were able to determine that the caller was connected to the incident.
The caller has since been taken into custody pending further investigation by detectives.  The suspect is being detained at the Lake County Jail on a probable cause hold.
