The South Bend Police Department is teaming up again with “SAVE Outreach” for the 2nd annual “Stock Up for Summer Food & Necessities Drive.”
The one-day food drive is set for Saturday, May 4, outside of the South Bend Police Department on Sample Street, however, donations are being accepted between now and then in the lobby of the police department.
They’re looking for donations of canned foods, boxed meals, pasta, peanut butter and jelly, cereal… plus personal hygiene products, diapers, wipes and baby formula.
South Bend Police has 24/7 access to the food pantry, which they can visit when they encounter an individual on a call who may need some extra help with food or baby items.
They also say when school is out of session, some families may experience a tougher time accessing food or other necessities.
