Police: Alcohol, drugs considered factor in injury crash in Cass County

Alcohol and drugs are considered a factor in a crash that injured a Marcellus resident.

The collision happened around 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, on Brownsville Street near M-62.

Cass County Sheriff’s investigators say the 42-year-old Marcellus resident was traveling eastbound on Brownsville Street and crossed the center line and struck a vehicle stopped in the westbound lane.

The second vehicle was driven by a 23-year-old Edwardsburg man.

The Marcellus resident was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
