Granger residents may see a column of flame this week as NIPSCO runs routine pipeline work.

NIPSCO will be running routine natural gas transmission pipeline inspections at a gas regulator system near Cleveland Road.

The tests make sure the gas is safe and reliable for customers, though customers should not experience any disruptions in their service while the inspections are taking place.

However, a natural gas odor, a flare of flame and noise may be noticed. Inspections will be taking place from 8 until 5 daily through Friday.
