Much of Indiana is dealing with drought due to the lack of rainfall.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows the southern and southwestern portions of the state in moderate drought.

When moderate drought occurs, crop growth is stunted and water levels drop. Several portions of northern Indiana are considered to be abnormally dry.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says Indianapolis hasn’t even received a quarter of an inch of rain while other places in the state haven’t even obtained that much.
