The South Bend Police Department is appealing to the public for help finding Marshawn Johnson, a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred earlier this year.

On Feb. 1, James Stewart III was found shot multiple times and dead inside a vehicle near the intersection of Johnson Street and Fassnacht Avenue. Following a thorough investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit, three individuals were identified as suspects: Demarko Robinson, 22; Jamir Johnson, 19; and Marshawn Johnson, 22.

All three suspects face charges of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. Robinson and Jamir Johnson have been arrested and are currently held in the St. Joseph County Jail.

Marshawn Johnson remains at large and is believed to be in the South Bend area. Authorities consider him armed and dangerous. Residents are advised not to approach him and to contact 9-1-1 if they spot him.
