(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

It may not feel like it as December begins, but we’re on pace for the warmest year on record across Northern Indiana.

The National Weather Service Northern Indiana office says with just a month to go, both South Bend and Fort Wayne are on pace for their warmest recorded year in 2024.

In South Bend the new record average is sitting at 55.8 degrees between January 1 and November 30, with 37.37″ of precipitation for the year…ranking 39th.

In Fort Wayne, the new record average is sitting at 56.4 degrees between January 1 and November 30, with 31.61″ of precipitation for the year, which ranks 49th.

With December starting off colder than normal, the National Weather Service will be watching closely this month to see where the average temperatures end up.

Warmer is better. Change my mind.

This area has historically been under a tropical sea and alternately a solid layer of ice. Grifters of today cannot change the facts they only profit by them.
