The City of St. Joseph will continue its economic development partnership with Cornerstone Alliance next year.

City Commissioners approved a new yearly contract with Cornerstone, saying it helps the city attract new businesses and make community improvements.

This year, $75,000 that was committed by the city, the DDA and Cornerstone resulted in almost $400,000 in total investment. It offered businesses matching grants of up to $10,000.

They say $150,000 will soon enhance Court Place Plaza, and WSJM says a key goal for next year is bringing in new residential units. Work is already being started on attracting developers.
