Local memorial service to honor President Jimmy Carter

A memorial service will be help on Wednesday to honor President Jimmy Carter.

The local service will be at the Fields at Highland subdivision northwest of Jefferson Boulevard and Byrkit Avenue. They’ll be honoring President Carter’s life and how he helped to build the Habitat for Humanity neighborhood here.

The public is welcome to leave messages on a physical memorial in the neighborhood.

The memorial ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
