A Riley High School student was taken into custody after a gun was found in their backpack on school premisis.

According to a letter to parents, the school’s principal says administrators received an anonymous tip around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10

The investigation began quickly and the gun was located in the backpack.

The principal says no students or staff members were harmed.
