Benton Township moving along with major sewer connection to wastewater treatment plant

(95.3 MNC)

Benton Township is moving along with a major sewer connection to wastewater treatment plant project.

The project will connect the sewer system to the Joint Wastewater Treatment operated between Benton Harbor and St. Joseph.

The township board of trustees advanced the $9 million project this week, according to WSJM.

Benton Harbor and Benton Township currently share a connection to the plant, and establishing a new line for the township has been a goal for a while.

Most of the project will be paid for with a state grant.
