A jury trial has been scheduled for a parent charged in the death of his baby.

Nick Hunsberger II, along with Amanda Fahlbeck, is being charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death after a two-week-old was reported nonresponsive.

The Goshen News says the baby and a sibling had been sleeping in bed with Hunsberger and was found unresponsive the next morning.

Police say the parents both appeared intoxicated at the hospital, and several drugs were found in their systems.

An autopsy of the baby also appeared positive for many drugs in the cord blood. Hunsberger’s jury trial has been scheduled for May 5.
