There were no injuries, fortunately, but there were plenty of challenges for South Bend firefighters at a house fire during Wednesday night’s snow storm.

Crews were called to the home in the 1000 block of North Brookfield Street.

Firefighters battled heavy flames, with significant damage to the second floor and roof while dealing with the snowfall and slippery conditions.

The resident was home but unharmed.
