The Indiana Department of Natural Resources reports a significant increase in community tips through its poacher hotline, enhancing efforts to combat illegal activities.
In 2024, the DNR received nearly 1,025 tips through the Turn In a Poacher (TIP) program, awarding thousands of dollars for tips that led to arrests.
Capt. Jet Quillen, a public information officer for the DNR’s law enforcement division, noted that the program started in the 1980s in partnership with various wildlife organizations, including the National Wild Turkey Federation.
