Benton Harbor’s Caring Connection warns of impacts from possible grant, loan freeze

(95.3 MNC)

Benton Harbor’s Caring Connection is warning of severe impacts on non-profits.

CEO Robin McGinnis stresses that a possible federal grant and loan freeze as well as government spending cuts would cause the most vulnerable, such as women and children in the domestic violence shelter, to suffer.

The organization operates day centers for adults with dementia and mental illness patients as well, which also face threats against funding.

Services are currently unaffected, according to McGinnis, but that could change.

WSJM says she’s urging everyone to reach out to their member of Congress about the situation, as she has reached out and only gotten vague statements.

You’re not a charity if you’re being funded by the federal government from tax payer pockets. Your business plan is faulty.

You can trust that the citizens will be contacting their representatives to continue the cuts of pass through taxation.

Exactly! It’s time all these tax funded NGOs were scrapped.
