Michigan’s State House has passed the GOP-backed roads package without any specific plan from the Democrats to counter it.

The Republican members passed a $3.1 billion road funding proposal last week.

Bridge Michigan reports that the legislation doesn’t raise any new taxes but would call for substantial budget cuts.

Governor Whitmer has outlined her own plan, but Democrats in the State Senate have not offered a plan.

The Dems claim the GOP plan will lead to budget shortfalls and cuts to critical services.

As many as seven Democrats in the House voted yes on parts of the package, and Governor Whitmer is highly critical of it.
