A man accused of breaking into an Elkhart house appeared in court last week.
Reports say a victim told police that he found a young man in his basement in January and stated that his Nintendo Switch, games and laptop were missing.
Surveillance footage also found that packages had been stolen from their home. Jesus Enrique Garcia was allegedly found selling the Switch on Facebook Marketplace, and an officer met up with him before following him back to his home.
Officers obtained a search warrant. The Goshen News says Garcia told police he had been driving around when he stopped in a neighborhood and went to three houses, attempting to open the doors.
When the door was unlocked at the victim’s house, he went inside to take the items. His trial is currently set for September 8.
