A man from Daleville has been arrested and charged for engaging in inappropriate behavior with two young girls.
Cory D. Butterfield, 54, turned himself in to the Delaware County Jail on Thursday. He’s been preliminarily charged with two counts of child molestation – a level 3 felony.
On May 29, Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies were called to take a child molestation report. Investigators interviewed the two victims the next day.
The two girls, who are under the age of 14, said in a note written to their mother that Butterfield molested them, made them wear thongs, and used sex toys on them. One of the girls also said that the actions started back when she was eight years old.
The victims also claimed that Butterfield would watch porn in front of them and engage in other inappropriate behavior like watch them use the bathroom.
Butterfield has retained legal counsel and his bond was set at $100,000. Jail documents show he was released at around 5 p.m. Thursday.
There has not been an initial hearing date set yet in Butterfield’s case.
