A crash involving a pickup truck and a golf cart left one man dead and two others seriously injured in St. Joseph County, Michigan.

The collision happened just early Tuesday evening, July 1, on Lake Road near Stone Lake Road when investigators say a pickup truck rear-ended a golf cart carrying three people.

The 61-year-old man driving the cart died at the scene. Two passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The 56-year-old pickup driver suffered minor injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies say speed and drugs may have played a role in the crash.
