A motorcyclist was injured after colliding with an SUV at the intersection of Greenleaf Boulevard and Holiday Drive.
The crash happened around just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 27.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, a 31-year-old Elkhart man was slowing to turn north onto Holiday Drive when the motorcycle behind him attempted to pass on the left. The Elkhart man on the motorcycle laid his Yamaha XVS1100 down to avoid the turning SUV but collided with the driver’s door and mirror after the motorcycle spun counterclockwise on the road. The man was thrown from the bike, striking the vehicle near the mirror.
He suffered head and arm injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Elkhart General Hospital. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
Both drivers were cited for driving while suspended.
