A Winfield woman has been sentenced for defrauding the federal Paycheck Protection Program.

29-year-old Jade Price pleaded guilty to wire fraud after falsely claiming income for a business to get four PPP loans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Price was sentenced by Judge Damon Leichty to 12 months of probation and ordered to repay more than 80-thousand dollars to the Small Business Administration.

Prosecutors say she used the relief funds for personal expenses rather than business needs.
