The City of Plymouth has issued an emergency vacate order for the Red Rock Inn at 2550 N. Michigan Street, following a joint inspection that uncovered multiple serious safety and health violations.
The order, effective Friday, Oct. 17, was issued by the City Building Commissioner in coordination with the Marshall County Health Department and in consultation with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Inspectors cited several major concerns, including fire safety hazards requiring immediate correction, structural maintenance deficiencies, and a confirmed insect infestation.
Because of the fire hazards, occupants must vacate the premises unless a Fire Watch plan is implemented and approved by the Plymouth Fire Department. The plan would permit limited temporary occupancy under strict supervision while necessary repairs are made.
The property also faces a formal 14-day vacate order due to ongoing maintenance and pest issues, requiring all tenants to relocate within two weeks unless otherwise directed by city officials.
City leaders say they are coordinating with local volunteers and community organizations to help affected residents find temporary housing and other assistance during the transition.
