SBPD investigating Colfax Ave. homicide

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate a homicide that occurred earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 28, around 12:10 p.m., South Bend Police received a report of shots fired in the 500 block of W. Colfax Avenue. Moments later, officers were advised of a man down in the same area.
Upon arrival, officers located a male, Brien Franklin Jr., 37, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.
The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is handling this investigation.

This happened over the lunch hour a couple blocks away from the County-City building.

It’s time for South Bend leadership to stop lying about how safe their city is (or more accurately, isn’t).
