Chicago man sentenced for drug crimes in Elkhart

A 34-year-old Chicago man has been sentenced for drug crimes in Elkhart County Superior Court.

Police say Darrius Dillon was arrested in April after officers executed a search warrant at an apartment on High Street, following multiple traffic stops where synthetic marijuana and other drugs were seized.

Inside the home, officers found marijuana, meth, paraphernalia and a handgun.

The Goshen News says Dillon denied the items were his but admitted he smoked and sold synthetic marijuana.

He was sentenced to 12 years for dealing in a Schedule I controlled substance, plus another 12 years concurrent for firearm possession.
