South Bend may be ahead of the curve in using AI to improve efficiency.
WVPE reports that the city is deploying Copilot for various tasks like assessing street segments and transcribing meetings.
South Bend keeps updated AI policies and is a finalist for a million-dollar project called CARE to identify community issues before residents contact the city.
The city is also exploring incorporating an AI voice chatbot into its 311 system and providing additional AI training for council members.
